Have you noticed the large volume of former Hollywood movie actors making the slow and steady migration to prime-time television? Cable Companies all across the country have been running shows where the cast members primarily consist of an ensemble cast of rather big name Hollywood actors and while some might say that these actors are simply broadening their horizons I happen to believe that this recent change in fields has more to do with the utterly abysmal movie releases in recent years than anything else.

Make no mistake, many Hollywood actors have taken creative breaks from Hollywood to work in television as a way to kind of promote themselves and try something new. Many television actors have even made the switch to movies as a kind of promotion, but the recent failures in driving up sales in the box office point to an even greater issue – people simply aren’t going to the movies like they used to. There are a number of reasons for this happening, the largest of which being people simply getting their movies through other, more illicit means, but the fact remains that Hollywood is suffering and the actors are having to find some other way to make ends meet. Just my opinion, but I think they’re moving to television, but you didn’t hear that from me.
